An appropriately named sake for the time of year. Immediately noticeable richness on the palate with a clean, soft finish. Very slightly nutty flavor. Enjoyable, but hard to find in the US.
I picked this up at a local store because it was an affordable yamahai Junmai. I enjoy this style a lot in general. This was a decent sake but I am not sure if I would buy it again. It is hard to describe, but the flavors feel somewhat flat to me.
The cedar flavor is very prominent and gives the sake richness and umami. Balanced sweetness. A nice sake to drink on its own due to the complexity of its flavors.
One of the cleanest Junmais I’ve ever tried. Rich flavor with big notes of melon, while still being light and crisp on the palate. I would definitely buy this in the future.
My first spring namazake of the year! Fairly light and fruity, with big notes of grapefruit and pear. Earthy on the palate with a fresh finish. Very glad that I tried this one.
This is a really complex and interesting sake. Extraordinarily rich with prominent notes of sesame and apple. Enjoyed this with salmon sashimi, but I think you are best pairing this with some very light otsumami or just drinking it on its own.
Solid all around sake. Reasonably dry so you can pair it with food or enjoy it on its own. A bottle was about $20 in NYC and I think that’s an excellent value for the quality.
