This is the limitted bottle of the liquor shop.
It was brewed during pre-war time. It's brewed by the Kimoto Method, creating a fruity like muscat and slightly dry taste.
Interesting sake - the wet stone flavor is present but in a nice way. I found this sweet and very juicy. Overall, quite good and very different from other sake I have tried.
This is my first kimoto. I read my first sake book recently and am impressed now that I know what a kimoto is.
"Ginrei" Junmai Daiginjo.
Some funk on the nose, with notes of melon. Flavor is rather abrasive, with melon and stone fruit, but a strong alcohol presence. If I were to have it again I'd do so with food for sure. Not the most pleasant sip on its own.
