I jumped at the chance to buy this sake because it had a sticker saying that it had won the highest gold medal for sake in a wine glass. It was slightly sweet and fragrant, but also had the feeling of drinking sake, and I thought it would go well with Western food.

This sake is supposed to have combined rice with different rice polishing ratios. The smell is slightly nutty. This sake is dry and also manages to seem both light and rich at the same time. The flavor is mellow and somewhat subdued with hints of melon and cashew. The bottle isn’t very traditional but is nicely designed. Rice Polishing Ratio: 50-70% Sake Meter Value: 2 Acidity: 1.7

Gorgeous aroma. Banana-like. Strong smell of alcohol. The palate is mellow, with moderate sweetness and acidity. There is a bitter taste, but it does not linger and is pleasantly sharp.

The appearance is transparent and pale crystal silver. The nose is gorgeous and full, with hints of pear, banana, and acacia. There is a freshness of green bamboo, lime minerality, mushroom and chestnut aroma, and sour cream fermentation. The first impression on the palate is rather strong, with plump sweetness, round and firm acidity, and full-bodied bitterness. The aftertaste is rather long.

It is mild, non-habit forming, and very easy to drink. It goes well with many different kinds of meals and can be savored on its own after a meal.

くろわっさん
It is a home brewed sake, and the rice used to make it is grown in Okayama Prefecture. It has a rice polishing ratio of 50%, a sake degree of +1.0, and an undisclosed acidity level. It was clear in color, slightly thickened, refreshing, and fresh from the rice.
