It is Sake Day, so open unopened sake. Hiyoroshi 2023 from Wakatsuru Sake Brewery in Toyama Prefecture. Purchased at department store Yamato in Toyama City. I've had many cans of Wakatsuru Shuzo (Saburomaru distillery) whiskey and highballs, but this is my first time to drink sake...supposedly. The aroma and mouthfeel are mild. The sweetness and umami spread in the mouth and disappear quickly. It has a nice sharpness. Easy to drink. Delicious!

It is a sake of Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture. The city of tulips and scattered villages. I haven't been to Toyama for a long time. The sweetness comes first. It has a fullness, and then a rich and thick pungency comes in. The later this pungency becomes, the sharper it becomes. The spiciness becomes sharper and sharper later on. It is crisp, and it disappears while expanding the taste of the snacks. How about when it is heated up? A rich lactic acid taste is found on the palate. The sweetness and spiciness become one. The spiciness comes in waves from the refreshing sweetness in the back of the mouth, and settles down with the lactic acid aroma and the back of the mouth. Ah, this comforting feeling. I think it would be good warmed up.

🌾 Yamada Nishiki 🅰️16 degrees Purchased at Liquor Mountain. It is a cosy product using Yamadanishiki. I think it is a product for discount liquor stores, different from Naekaya. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Elegant. Note: The brewery is one of the few integrated liquor manufacturers in the country (also produces whiskey and liqueurs). Origin of the brand name: The name comes from one day when Saburomaru Tonami Hirano was trying to brew sake in this area of Tonami, when a crane suddenly landed in a paddy field from the sky and he was impressed by its youthful and graceful appearance.
