Thirty years ago, when I was a student, I went on a ski trip to Nozawa Onsen organized by a senior student. My memory is a little fuzzy, but I remember that a liquor store (Nagano store?) near Juonoyu was selling a set of three mini bottles of Unzan for 800 yen as a souvenir. Each bottle was no more than 1 gou, but it was a set of 3 bottles: Honjozo, Junmai Ginjo, and Harazake. I compared the sake for the first time with my skiing buddies. I compared them for the first time with my skiing buddies and found that my favorite was the Harazake. (I bought three boxes of it on my way home from a ski trip (lol).
After that, I had several encounters with Unzan, and each time I bought a bottle of the original sake.
This time, I was able to buy a fresh bottle that was only about a week old (although it has been open for about 2 weeks now).
It has a slight effervescence. The mouthfeel is light and does not give the sensation of being a very strong sake. It has a mild lingering aroma. It is a very tasty sake.
