Hakone Drink Comparison Set (2) On March 1, after a year-long event, I went on a trip to Hakone as a way of consolation! The local sake was served to compare with Japanese kaiseki. It was my first time to try Hakonezan! This is the spiciest sake in the group. It is a dry ginjo-shu as you might imagine, but it is moderately rich and very good as a mid-meal drink. Of course, it goes well with ingredients as they are, but it also goes well with dishes that have been added, such as those using dashi (Japanese soup stock)!

I used to love it. I think it would have been good as a dry alcoholic beverage, but as a stand-alone, it was too alcoholic!

越の酒好き
Today's first drink is a sake from Kanagawa. It has a rather firm texture, clear and thick. The banana-like, refreshing aroma tickles the nostrils. The sweetness and sourness are quite strong. It was a refreshing, aromatic, and delicious sake, different from the usual Hakonezan.
