Micadina phluctaenoides (species of stick insect)
Aroma reminiscent of rum and citrus fruits. Slightly effervescent. Dry but sweet with sourness and umami. A little bitterness at the end. It is delicious. It is Mikotsuru, after all.
We bought it at the brewery's store. Thank goodness they are close by and open on weekends.
They pour it from a tank. You can choose between 500ml and 300ml, and this one is 500ml.
The brewery is located near Suwa-taisha Shrine. A short walk away is Lake Suwa. The parking lot is large and you can get a ticket if you shop there. Tastings are available for a fee. The selection of products is perfect, from raw sake to goods. You can also take a tour if you make a reservation. It is now a tourist attraction.

It rained from this morning and the temperature was below 10℃😭.
The weather forecast was right.
After visiting four Suwa-taisha shrines and receiving a coin purse as a souvenir of completing the red seal, it's time for a tour of sake breweries 😆.
First up was Mikotsuru.
We stopped by the brewery's store.
There was a sake seal book (❔), and I was a bit lost for a moment.
I decided to buy a bottle of the brewery's limited edition fire-brewed sake and another bottle of Hitokokkotto, which was shipped from the brewery in April.
We opened the bottle at dinner at the inn!
It was so fresh and juicy that there were even a few bubbles in the glass.
I have had two new sake Junmai sake this season at home, Orikarami and Hitogokotchi, and they are completely different in taste or perfection.
I would like to try other sake rice as well.
After Mikotsuru, I told my wife I wanted to stop by Suwa Gokura, but she lightly rejected the idea: 🙅♀️
We ended up with only Masumi ( ;) ).
We had soba for lunch between the upper and lower shrines. We were told that the soba was home-grown 😮 and it was delicious.

Last month, Joe bought a bottle and drank it on the Azusa!
We got a freshly pressed Kinmon-Nishiki that Joe also bought and drank last month in Azusa!
We had it squeezed into 500ml bottles 😊.

Fresh aroma when you open the bottle.
The taste is just like a Shine Muscat!
It is sweet and a little sour on the palate.
