Micadina phluctaenoides (species of stick insect)
Aroma reminiscent of rum and citrus fruits. Slightly effervescent. Dry but sweet with sourness and umami. A little bitterness at the end. It is delicious. It is Mikotsuru, after all.
We bought it at the brewery's store. Thank goodness they are close by and open on weekends.
They pour it from a tank. You can choose between 500ml and 300ml, and this one is 500ml.
The brewery is located near Suwa-taisha Shrine. A short walk away is Lake Suwa. The parking lot is large and you can get a ticket if you shop there. Tastings are available for a fee. The selection of products is perfect, from raw sake to goods. You can also take a tour if you make a reservation. It is now a tourist attraction.
