Shikoku x Sake Country 2025 Sake Brewery Wonderland On Osaka①
Entered the event for the first time in 6 years.
The venue was the 9th floor Sky Hall of Kyocera Dome Osaka.
Since 52 breweries in Shikoku were participating in the event, we couldn't visit all of them in 2.5 hours, so we decided to focus on the breweries we rarely see.
As usual, Dr. Bouken was with us.
First, we visited the booths of "Imakomachi" and "Yutaka" in Tokushima.
◉Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered
A clean acidity and a full-bodied flavor.
◉Junmai Daiginjo, unfiltered
The Junmai Daiginjo Mucho is a pure, polished, full-bodied, rich, and delicious wine. It was so good. The price was about 3300 yen including tax.
◉Yamansho
Slightly dry and refreshing. Not too spicy.
Imakomachi Daiginjo
The most expensive. The standard, excellent quality, with a full-bodied, all-rounded taste. Not very impactful.
In the Kansai region, Ohmune in Hyogo Prefecture seems to carry it on a spot basis. They can also send it to individuals by e-mail or phone.

Nemuchi and I participated in the Shikoku Sake event held at Kyocera Dome!
The venue was 5 minutes before the event, so we arrived in time to get in, but the line was too long to get in in 5 minutes 😳 We lost about 10 minutes 💦.

There was no sake list like at Japanese Sake Fest or Sake-1 Grand Prix 🤔.
We decided to focus on the breweries we hadn't seen before.
We started with Imakomachi.
It seems to be in the same area as Yoshimizu and Miyoshikiku, and Miyoshikiku has the same salad address, so they are neighbors!

Junmai Ginjo Unfiltered Harazake
Gohyakumangoku, 50% polished rice ratio
It has a beautiful taste and is slightly sweet. It is fire-aged, but I also felt a sense of freshness. The sweetness and acidity were well balanced.
Junmai Daiginjo Unfiltered Harajuku
Yamadanishiki, 40% polished rice
Fruity and sweet. I got the impression that Imakomachi is generally sweet.
Yamasho Junmai Ginjo Genshu
Gohyakumangoku, 60% polished rice ratio
Unlike the above two types, it is refreshingly dry as it claims to be super dry.
Daiginjo
Yamadanishiki 40% polished rice
Less sweet than the jun-dai, but delicious.

I asked a distributor in the Kansai region and was told that Daisune in Kobe carries it, but it does not seem to be available at all times and may have to be ordered 🤔.
Both jun-dai and daiginjo are priced at 3300 yen, which is reasonable for the specs!

It is crisp, dry, acidic, and has the strength of a pure sake.
However, it has a freshness that is not heavy.
Looks good for the coming season!

It was a truly delicious sake with a crisp mouthfeel supported by a subtle umami flavor.

It's getting dark around here and I can't read the booklet I got 😅.
The sweetness and flavor is firm and moist 🥰.
The aftertaste is nicely rounded out with a slight hackles 😊.

Slightly banana-like aroma.
Slightly sweet and flows like water.
Perfect as a food sake.
It is also good on its own.
For some reason, Tokushima City izakayas don't have much local sake, but here (at a hotel in Miyoshi City), there are three Miyoshi breweries on the menu, which is great!

Delicious with a good balance of rich flavor, sweetness and acidity while still having a firm gusto.
It also has a nice aroma and may be my favorite sake I've had in Miyoshi City!
I've had Miyoshikiku several times, so I chose this one over Yoshimizu, and I was right!
I drank it with Handa Somen, so it has a Tokushima feel to it, which is great!
I wish Miyoshi (Awa Ikeda) would focus more on local sake since they have their own sake brewery!
By the way, I got a sake cup from the Shikoku Sake Festival because they had some leftover goods!
The sake shop in Ikeda was very responsive and made a good impression on me!
