I went to an eel skewer restaurant the other day. They have a number of local sake on tap, including Tobiroki Special Junmai, and one of my favorites is this one. It is a very good sake with an ideal balance of sweetness and spiciness, yet the aftertaste is surprisingly refreshing. It is a perfect match for eel. It was the best, except for the bill...(・・ω・・・)Taka cutter!

My favorite local Kochi sake, Drunken Whale Found at a liquor store = bought! I found out from the sake shop that "Koiku 54" is the scientific name of sake rice "Gin no Yume"! The name "drunken whale" means "dry", and this sake is truly dry and refreshing. But it has a sweet aftertaste that went perfectly with the bonito tataki zuke I served with it. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Drunken Whale. And for less than 2,000 yen for a 4-pack, it is a great sake!

Excuse me for the record. Seven years ago, at the end of the year, I found this sake at a kaku-uchi (corner bar) in Sapporo, and was surprised to hear that it cost tens of thousands of yen for one sake. The owner of the store gave me a bottle of this sake that had less than a fraction of a cup left in it... I don't remember what it tasted like. I saw a price of 100,000 yen for a 4-gou bottle of this sake, which has a rice polishing ratio of 1%, on the Internet, but if that is the case, I would rather enjoy drinking a variety of sake that cost around 2,000 yen per 4-gou bottle!

I had the pleasure of drinking this morning's sake from Otokoyama Shuzo at the end of this year's fiscal year. It was a powerful sake that shattered my head with a full swing. This sake, which is made by Otokoyama Shuzo, is freshly pressed and ready to drink, is high in alcohol content and dry. It can be paired with meat, fish, and everything in between. The only drawback is that it runs out quickly and can only be purchased at Otokoyama Shuzo. We hope to drink it again!

This is the sake that made me decide to record the sake I drank. The taste matched my dry taste buds, and the fizzy mouthfeel is unique to nama-shu. In addition, the price is very reasonable at less than 2,000 yen for a bottle of No. 4. It is a good sake that you can always have on hand.
