Why are the photos so dark?
I went on a trip to Fukue Island in the Goto Islands and visited a soba restaurant in Tomie village in the western part of the island. But I missed the bus, and that was the end of my luck.
To my surprise, Tomie Shrine, the village's shrine, was holding its annual festival!
As I was taking pictures, a man in happi coat said to me, "Carry it! I was taking pictures and was told by a man in happi coats, "Carry it! I was given this sake as a gift.
The process of carrying the 500kg portable shrine was really slow, as it had to (1) swing to the right, (2) return to the front, (3) "insert" overhead, (4) lower, (5) swing to the left, (6) return to the front, (7) "insert" overhead again, and so on...*in an endless loop. It was a grueling three-and-a-half hours of continuous work.
In the end, we were allowed to participate until the banquet after arriving at the port company.... The first photo was taken at that time. In the end, we were given a lift back to our lodgings in Fukue.
The festival is held every year from October 15 to 17. The Mikoshi Preservation Society says, "We welcome people from outside the island, so please come and carry the mikoshi next year! Please promote it on social media as well!
It was truly a dream come true.... I hope I can save up enough money to come back next year.
My boss at work gave me this sake🍶.
It is a sake with a good balance of acidity and sweetness, and the umami of rice can be felt well.
The accompaniment was a prawn sen with raayu (Chinese chili oil)
The brewery was founded in 1839 in Higashisonogi-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, as "Choshiya Brewery", and the brand name at that time was "Emifuku". In 1980, the brewery merged with Reimei Brewery and Unzen Brewery in Nagasaki Prefecture and Kuretake Brewery in Saga Prefecture, and the business rights were transferred to create "Seishu Kine-no-Kawa. I wonder if the name "Kine-no-Kawa" is derived from "Higashi Sonogi River" which flows in Higashi Sonogi. ...... By the way, it is now located in Isahaya City.
It's been quite a while since Nagasaki Prefecture...... is 10 years!
The wine is full of fruitiness and has just the right amount of sweet and sour and spiciness without any peculiarities. The alcohol is a bit too strong on the nose, but it smells like roses........ A bottle of Legs followed a little later, but only a little.
This is the 613th one-cup, one-pack festival.
Purchased on a business trip to Nagasaki. Delicious sake with a firm, deep flavor. I will have it on the last day of my Bon vacation. Let's work hard from tomorrow!
National Sake Fair 2025 Day 2㉞
Nagasaki ①
Kinegawa in Isahaya City
I've heard of the name but this is the first time to see and drink it.
Polishing ratio 55%, Yamadanishiki 13%, 1,760 yen
Low alcohol, easy to drink and sweet!
I think this will sell well outside of the prefecture 🤔.
Second Nagasaki Sake
At "Sake-no-Hiradogoya" in the shopping center attached to JR Nagasaki Station
I said, "Please give me a sake that can only be bought here!
I asked for a sake only available here, and this one was recommended.
He explained that it was a fruity, apple-like sake.
The first day
The aroma was quite ricey,
I thought, "Could this be old-fashioned sake?"
When I drank it, I thought
"Sweet!"
It is indeed an apple.
Second day
The aroma is not so much rice aroma, but a clear ginjo aroma.
When I drank it, it tasted like a sweet and sour cider.
I see it's apple.
Delicious!
Sake is a wonder!
