Another favorite. So strong, robust, and flavorful. I love this one and will love for it when I go to the sake shop. I have no room in my bags but….I’ll find a way. Too good to pass up!
Had in the fun sake bar that my ryokan offers. It was great but not as good as my two other favorites. Interesting! If I hadn’t tried the other two, this would be a fave.
Absolutely one of my favorite sake. It is robust but easy to drink, smooth but interesting, rice like but with a great deal of umami. I love this one and will be searching for it in bottle before I leave Fukushima.
Had as part of the Ume Course during my second dinner at this lovely ryokan. you could taste the gamey-ness from the Yamahai. I’m glad this was today’s recommendation!
Had as part of the Matsu Course as part of my first dinner at this great ryokan. It was delicious and smooth but not as beloved as the Gensai, at least for me.
I got the Pine Course of sake with my first dinner at Kutsurogijuku Chiyotaki, this sake was part of it and was far and away my favorite. Delicious, smooth, with a hint of pine and a certain je ne sais quoi. If I can find a bottle, I’m getting it!
