It was another damp and hot day.
Although it was a weekday, I wanted to drink a bottle, so I opened a bottle.
I wonder when I will be able to take a weekday off completely..,
Well, today we will open a bottle of Akabu Gokujo No Zan by Akabu Shuzo.
I have seen this sake many times at SAKEWA, and I was looking forward to drinking it.
This sake is brewed from Iwate Prefecture's premium sake rice "Yunokou" polished to 35%, fermented at a very low temperature, and then pressed in a bag at the perfect time in an ice refrigerator at -1°C. This is a very luxurious sake made with a lot of time and effort.
Just reading about the brewing process, expectations are high.
Now then, let's have a taste.
First, the aroma. The fresh aroma is very exciting.
When you put it in your mouth, sweetness and umami spread out, and it is delicious - bliss.
And it is very fruity.
From the mid-palate, the spiciness pulls you in, and you finish with a nice saltiness and bitterness.
It was a very delicious sake that lived up to its reputation.
