ヤスベェThe other day, I had a bottle of Otome, another brand of sake called Ako Ronin, brewed by Okufuji in Sakagoshi, a short walk over the mountains from Oishi Shrine at Ako Castle 😀 It is an alky sake, but it didn't feel too alky 😀.
It is an alcohol-sweetened sake, but it didn't feel like an alcohol-sweetened sake 😀.
After my second tour of Japan, my next goal was to go on a walking tour of the breweries, but this one doesn't count because it was before I made it public 🤣.
But this Sakagoe is famous for oysters, so I would like to come back again during the winter oyster season 😀. ジェイ&ノビィGood evening, Yasbaye 😃.
Quite a quintessential Yasbaye 👍 great attitude to rule by rules made by yourself 🥹I would count it out 😆 but now you have something fun to match your winter oysters 🦪🤗. ヤスベェGood evening, Jay & Nobby 😀.
It's not that big of a reason 🤣.
Ako is the farthest away from Okayama prefecture in Kansai, so oysters alone are not a good enough reason, so I just added a visit to a sake brewery to the list of reasons 🤣. ゆーへーIt has a minerality, but it is easy to drink with an apricot-like sweetness that comes out much later.
Classical, but with a strong lactic acidity, perfect with meat dishes.
I bought this bottle when I visited Fujioka Shoji in Ako.
I gave my friend a Chushingura cattle set as a gift, but bought Otome Junmai for home use.
I've seen the ginjo at Kobe Hankyu, but this is the first time I've seen the junmai💡.
I went to the brewery and learned for the first time that Otome has a longer history.
The person at the brewery who sold it to me said it was "moderately peculiar", but I personally found it to be classic but to my liking and enjoyed it ✨.
720 mL ¥ 1,320 こやーんI was pretty drunk, so all I remember is that it was delicious😅. さけのりSake from Ako, Banshu, famous for Ako Ronin
The brewery has a signature brand name "Chushingura," but in fact "Otome" seems to be the origin of this brewery...
It is a very clear, clean sake with no cloying taste.
As the name suggests, it is "Otome".
It has a hint of sweetness, and is not too harsh (laugh).
Nothing but a maiden... (laugh)
Delicious!
