Four posts in a row, and this is the real deal.
I was looking at some websites of breweries of sake I want to drink, and I found on Morishima's website that there's a shop near me that carries it!
It wasn't listed on the shop's blog, so I was afraid to call and ask about it, but they said they had Omachi, Hitachinishiki, Miyamanishiki, and Yamadanishiki!
I hurried over to buy some, and found them all lined up in the fridge! I should have taken a picture.
I should have taken a picture... I brought home an Omachi today.
When I opened the bottle, it smelled sweet. When you pour it into a bowl, it seems to be slightly sparkling. When you put it in your mouth, the sweet and savory flavors spread out with a soft acidity, and the bitterness quickly clears up with a slight bitterness.
The heaviness that is typical of Omachi is concentrated in the first half, and the second half ends nicely, making it easy to drink.
I think this is very similar to Kamonishiki's Omachi nama-shu. Kamonishiki is a little less sweet and gorgeous.
It is a definite repeat customer.
