Takarayama Brewery is back!
Takarayama, which was reborn as Takarayama Brewery, resumed sales at the brewery on November 1, so I took a quick peek.
The store was still deserted, but there was a lineup of sake that had been made this year and plenty of amazake in the fridge.
I bought a few bottles of Shinnosuke, which won the 2024 Kura Master Platinum Award for its rice bag label, and some amazake.
The proprietress told us a lot about the bankruptcy proceedings. She said that they are still unable to reopen the lotion bottles using pure rice sake. It's still a tough time, isn't it? I'm rooting for them! The proprietress also enjoys talking about the manga "Moyashimon".

Whenever I have business in Iwamuro, I always stop by Hozan Sake Brewery
On the cover of Takarazan's sake, there is a fantastic cap with a design that reads "People, Sake, Talking".
It's not easy to get one, so I asked the proprietress about it at the store, and she told me that for various reasons, they no longer make them.
As a sake cap collector, I was very disappointed...
She told us that she loves Niigata sake and collects sake caps from all over the prefecture, and for some reason we got into a conversation about the situation in Ukraine...
After a short chat with the proprietress, who loves to talk a lot, we decided to go back to the brewery, which was a shame, but we had to do it.
I bought a bottle of sake with the proprietress's label, which was only available at the brewery, and said I would come back again...I started the engine in the parking lot, and the proprietress brought a sample sake bottle for display and asked me if I would like to take the lid of that fantastic bottle, which was rarely seen in the store. She asked me if I wanted to take it. She cut the bottle and gave me the lid right then and there ‼️😭 is that ok! I'm so happy!

Since 2020, this sake has won numerous awards, including kura master and the International Salmon Challenge.

Hozan Dozo Cold Brewing Kura no Nigori Sake
I bought this when I stopped by the Hozan Sake Brewery after Iwamuro. They seemed to be busy at the end of the year and had less stuff. I wanted to get the Shinnosuke rice bag series, but

It was smooth, creamy, and quite dry.

TAKARAYAMA Rice bag label Yukinkomai undiluted sake
Rice bag label series using edible rice brewed by the toji of Takarayama, who brews sake overflowing with originality.
Niigata's brand rice "Koshihikari", "Shinnosuke", and this "Yukinoko Mai".
The rice bag label Shinnosuke is a KuraMaster 2020 Gold Award winning sake. I tasted and compared them, but I liked this one more (^^).
It has a refreshing aroma like freshly cooked rice and citrus.
It has a fresh and mellow mouthfeel.
The rice flavor and sweetness spread softly and mellowly, and then quickly disappear into the back of the throat.
It is easy to drink as the alcohol content is low at 15 degrees despite being an unblended sake.
I'm ashamed to say that I've never eaten Yukinkomai as rice, but this sake is delicious, with a gentle sweetness that stands out.

Today, Constitution Day, we went to the Takarayama Sake Brewery for a sake brewery tour. The usually popular Takarazan Sake Brewery tour was empty, as expected.
We enjoyed the light-hearted talk of the famous landlady with beautiful skin.
The sake brewery is located near Iwamuro Onsen and is made by five young master brewers.
The pure rice sake is also recommended for lotion. This sake brewery has also been used in a Shiseido commercial.
The brewery uses brewing water from a well on the premises that draws running water from the Yahiko and Takara mountain ranges, and rice harvested from nearby rice fields.
Kihou" is dedicated as a sacred sake to Yahiko Shrine, one of the most powerful spots in the prefecture, which rises at the foot of Mt.
This is the last of the season's freshly brewed, unpasteurized sake.
It has a clean aroma that is a little sweet, but also a little pungent, a fresh and mellow mouthfeel, and a delicious taste with a hint of rice.
It has the strong and rich flavor of the original sake, but it is very easy to drink and has a good sharpness.
