ねむちNational Sake Fair 2025 in Osaka_54
Fukui Prefecture Booth ⑥
Katayama Shuzo is a brewery located in Echizen City. Their representative brands are Kansai and Gekizou. Gekizo is a sake for special occasions, while Kansai is for everyday drinking.
◉Gekizasa Junmai Daiginjo
Tsukigasa is an obfuscated sake.
It has a sweet, citrusy aroma. It tastes like yogurt with citrus. The taste is rounded out by the acidity. Modern and delicious.
I forgot to take a picture of this one, so I borrowed it from bouken. boukenNational Sake Fair 2025 part51

I wonder if there is a segregation between the regular brand name Kansai and Gekizo, where Kansai is alsobe and Gekizo is junmai.
I have drunk Katayama Shuzo's Kansai sake several times, including when I was given it by Jive and when I bought it at KITTE.
Of course, this is my first time drinking Jun Dai.
Polishing ratio 45%, Sakahomare 16%, Shuzo +1, Acidity 1.4
3300 yen
I thought the quality of sake was modern, unlike Kansai.
I wonder if there are many variations of Getsuzo 🤔. ジャイヴGood morning, bouken!
I think that's the right separation between the original Honjozo "Kansai" and the new Junmai sake "Gekizou" ✨.
It's a pity that there is no "Gekizou" sake at the moment 😅. boukenHi Gyve ☔.
The Jun Dai I drank this time was so good that I wished I had some Nama Sake 🤔. boukenThis sake was purchased at the antenna store in KITTE.
Sake made by Katayama Shuzo in Kansai!
It had a refreshing yet impressive acidity!
Personally, I prefer the alsobeared Kansai 🤔. ジャイヴGood evening, bouken🌛.
Thank you for trying our local sake brewery, Katayama Sake Brewery 🙇.
The "Gekizou" series is the first ginjo style for the brewery, so keep your eyes peeled for more 😁. boukenHello Gyve-san ☀☀☀☀.
I guess that means they are not used to making junmai and ginjo yet 🤔.
Fukui sake is so unique, I just wish it had a little more character and personality 😊.
ジャイヴThe other night at the hot springs, I tried to have a few drinks in the room, but I was so tired from my recent trip that I went to the hot springs, had a few drinks, put the kids to bed, and almost all of it ended up back at home 💦.
I was a little short on drinks, so I decided to have a quick drink at home the next day 😁.
I bought a small bottle of this for the spa 🍶.
Gassa Junmai Ginjyo Nama-Storage" brewed by Katayama Shuzo, a sake brewery in Takefu, a local town.
Clear rice aroma upon opening the bottle.
The first sip has a clear rice flavor, and the aroma of rice passes through the nose, followed by a sharp, clean aftertaste and a slight bitterness at the end.
It is a dry sake with a clear, not too sweet umami that is typical of nama-zake.
The creamy taste of smoked cheese and the clear umami go well with each other, and the smoky aroma of smoked cheese comes out through the nose at the end.
The saltiness and umami of the seasoned cod goes well with the gentle dry sake.
[Kansai is another main brand brewed by Katayama Shuzo, and most restaurants in Fukui carry Ippongi as their hot sake.
Katayama Shuzo has started to offer Junmai Ginjo and Junmai Daiginjo in their "Gekizou" series!
Since we're here, we'll have it in a "tsukimizake" (moon-viewing sake) 🌛 tonight. ポンちゃんHi Jive 🐦.
This is my first time here! I don't see "Kansai" either, so I'm sure there are lots of brands I don't know about when I visit Fukui 😳It looks like it would go well with your meal 😊. アラジンGyve, good evening 😃!
Moon Daze, I registered it as obfuscation 🍶.
But a big cup of moon, really big 😳.
I think I can drink up the moon while reflecting it on my sake on a full moon night 🌕☺️ ジェイ&ノビィGood morning, Gyve 😃.
Putting the kids to bed after drinking... that's going to be a sleep 😅 after all that exhaustion, maybe a relaxing home drink with smoked cheese 🧀 would have been nice 🤗. ジャイヴHello, Pon.
I don't think there is any chance of it being sold outside of the prefecture.
Kansai" was registered as a mark in 1909 and was named "Kansai" in respect of Nada, Hyogo, a famous brewery at the time ✨. ジャイヴHi Aladdin ☀☀☀☀☀.
I'm not familiar with this term as it's a weather term 💦.
I'd like to read about this phenomenon as it seems to be quite mysterious 😁.
I bought this sake cup at the Kiyomizu pottery fair in Kyoto last year and it was love at first sight✨. ジャイヴHello Jay & Nobby ☀☀☀☀!
You didn't have a chance to relax after the big work in March, and fatigue has been accumulating 💦.
This weekend Fukui will be hosting a new sake festival, so I'm off to relax with some delicious sake ✨. RecommendedContentsSectionView.title
