Traveling in Shinshu (6) On the way home, we stopped at Juten in Takayama City for a drink. We gave a beer to our neighbor who celebrated his birthday today, and in return he gave us some sake to share 😁. Himuro Daiginjo Nama Sake. Melon-like aroma, soft melon-like sweetness, and a slight aruze-like atmosphere, followed by a pleasant and happy aftertaste. [The sea urchin isobe-age (fried sea urchin) was the dish that got me hooked on the restaurant. Pair it with this and you'll be enveloped in a heavenly euphoria 😋. And the 6-course menu with such a gorgeous tempura is under 2,000 yen, a high-cost spa 😲!

Traveling in Shinshu (5) After leaving Bessho Onsen, we visited Okazaki Sake Brewery and Sanada Family History Museum in Ueda City, and got some sake at a liquor store we had guessed on the way☺. On the way back to Takayama city, it was time for dinner, so we went to dinner 🍴. I visited Juten for the first time in a year because it was easy to get into the restaurant that I couldn't miss when I came to Takayama 😁. The party was a lot of fun as there was a birthday celebration for the customer next door and the 10th anniversary of the restaurant 🤣. Here is what I had at Juten 🍶. Tobikiri Tokubetsu Junmai (Special Junmai) Aroma of full-bodied rice and alky sake, a clean taste with a hint of sweetness from the alky sake, and a pleasant aftertaste. Goes great with Juten tempura, especially with alpine corn tempura 😋.
