Eikohji, Sumiretsuyu, Ibuki In France, there were usually candied violets and sweets, but unfortunately I am not familiar with them and I don't recognize violets. They are sweet, juicy and pear-like. The name "Fuji" comes from the character for "glory," which was added to the original sake name "Fuji" when the company was first founded to express the wish for prosperity. It is also said that the symmetrical character "Eiko Fuji" represents the brewery's philosophy of "sake brewing without backs and sides.

crane (any bird of the family Gruidae, esp. the red-crowned crane, Grus japonensis) While known as the only all pure rice brewery in Hiroshima Prefecture, it is also famous as the birthplace of Nikka Whiskey's founder, Masataka Taketsuru. The origin of the name "Taketsuru" dates back to before 1600, when the Battle of Sekigahara took place. When the head of the brewery saw cranes nesting in the bamboo thicket behind the brewery, he rejoiced and changed his family name to "Chikutsuru" (meaning "crane in a pine tree").
