In France, there were usually candied violets and sweets, but unfortunately I am not familiar with them and I don't recognize violets. They are sweet, juicy and pear-like.
The name "Fuji" comes from the character for "glory," which was added to the original sake name "Fuji" when the company was first founded to express the wish for prosperity. It is also said that the symmetrical character "Eiko Fuji" represents the brewery's philosophy of "sake brewing without backs and sides.
