Today was also a fun day with our first visit to Yamanaka Sake Shop in Minami.
And today is my wife's birthday. However, she had to work, so we will have dinner on Sunday, but on the way home from the sake shop, I bought a cake. We will have it after dinner, and she was very happy.
So, today's dinner.
For the toast, we had a limited edition sake from today's Kaze no Mori WEEKS venue.
It is Kaze no Mori WEEKS 2024 Yamadanishiki 507 Midori by Aburacho Sake Brewery.
We had some of the 357 left over from the other day, so we compared the two 🎵.
My wife found the 507 easier to drink.
Now, I know this is a long preamble, but let's drink it right away.
First, the aroma. It smells sweet. ⤴️
When you put it in your mouth, you will feel the same chili sensation, stronger than in 357.
When you start drinking it, you can feel the bitterness and spiciness, and the sweetness is only faintly perceptible.
The spiciness is very refreshing, but at the same time it is complex.
It is very tasty.
When paired with a meal, the sweetness and umami are perceived to have increased, making it a very tasty sake as a mealtime drink.
