It was a beautiful day, a full day of snowboarding and sweating. It's getting colder and colder.
I couldn't stand it any longer, so I decided to have either amazake or heated sake, and heated sake won out.
At the Echigo Yuzawa Station food stall village, you can choose between cold and hot sake in a Choja cup for 400 yen. The cups are boiled in a pot. (What an efficient drink, I thought...).
Actually, I spent 30 minutes looking at the storefront to decide whether to buy amazake or heated sake. When I saw that no one was buying a cup of chosha, I said to myself, "In this situation, go for what you want to drink! I decided to go with the heated Choja Cup.
There were plenty of draft beer and amazake on tap, though.
I'm going to give a big shout out to the fact that many people may not know that you can get 200ml hot sake here for 400 yen (cold sake is also available). This sake has won a gold medal in the National Heated Sake Contest!
