Closed today. I decided to make oden, which I've been craving lately.
It's been a while since I've made it, but I'm glad my wife was pleased with how tasty it was.
This week is my birthday week, so I'm going to enjoy some sake that my wife gave me on our Wakayama sake brewery tour!
So this week we are drinking Kurogyu from the Meite Sake Brewery!
This time it's a limited edition Ocaan from Kurogyu Chaya!
Let's have it right away!
The first day
First, the aroma. It smells fruity and refreshing.
When you put it in your mouth, you can feel a fruity and slightly sweet taste in the back of your mouth, as well as a full-bodied, mineral-like sensation.
After that, the taste quickly disappears, and the lingering aftertaste of peel-like bitterness and a slight spiciness spreads.
It gives the impression of being rather dry, but it is easy to drink.
The second day
The taste has become more smooth, and the sweetness and umami are more pronounced than yesterday.
The lingering flow from richness and minerality to bitterness and spiciness is the same as yesterday, but the bitterness and spiciness have softened and the balance has improved.
I think I prefer the second day's taste.
Oden and sake are really a great pairing, and I am thankful to my wife for her support tonight!
