Is it because it is made of wooden vats? It has a very unique aroma.
It is indeed a sake, but it has a whisky-like flavor.
The moment you put it in your mouth, you feel a sweetness that is not unpleasant, followed by a strong aroma.
I think it would go well with iburigaki (pickled ginger) or pickles with a strong aroma.
