The cherry blossoms have begun to fall and the daytime heat is reminiscent of a summer day. We opened a bottle of this sake to moisten our thirst with a light-flavored sake. The color is a light cloudiness with a purple tinge. What is it? The aroma...the taste...the grapes are Koshu, but it brought back fond and distant memories of drinking black grapes such as Campbell and Steuben when I was a child and having them juiced with their skins. The bitterness of the hops and the fresh aroma are good, and the slight minerality and umami taste remind me of a fruity craft beer. I think it's perfect for a light lunchtime drink 😉.
