In honor of the 150th check-in milestone, I tried a sake from Gifu that I had never had before 🍶.
I purchased this sake on June 1st at Watanabe Shuzo.
This sake is made from Gifu rice called "Hidahomare"!
It starts out with a crisp sweetness that is not sluggish, and as the sweetness gradually fades, the astringency comes into the picture and closes the bottle.
It is delicious 😋.
I had it chilled.
The aroma I found is as follows.
-Aroma: Aroma of sweet rice
-Aroma: Taste is astringent, but the aroma keeps a little sweetness.
Taste sensation
The higher the number, the stronger the taste (5 is the maximum)
-Spiciness: 0 at the beginning → 0 aftertaste
-Sweetness: 4 at the beginning → 2 in the aftertaste
-Sourness: 0 at the beginning → 0 in the aftertaste
-Bitterness: 0 at the beginning → 0 lingering 0
-Astringency: 1 at the beginning → 3 in the aftertaste
-Rice flavor: 1 at the beginning → 0 lingering 0
Mouthfeel I felt】→ 2
Smaller number = light and smooth
Bigger number = thicker and richer

Hida Takayama is currently holding the Sake Brewery Nonbei Festival!
There are many sake breweries and we had a great time walking around, tasting sake and eating gohei-mochi (rice cakes). Of course, we went home after buying a lot of sake, including sake limited editions!

This time Watanabe Sake Brewery is located near Hida Furukawa station, a bit far from Takayama, so they are not participating in the Takayama Nonbei Festival😅.
