I went to Tochigi for a day trip.
I stopped at a roadside station and bought some local sake.
I'm sorry to say that I didn't know this sake because it is not famous, but it was a sake made with Tochigi Oyama in mind. The sake rice is made from Yamada Nishiki produced in Oyama, and the name is also the Oyama, after the Oyama Gion Castle, the guardian of Oyama with a history of over 450 years.
It is delicious with a gentle taste and a clean aftertaste. It reminds me of the rich countryside of Oyama. Tochigi is also famous for its sake, but encountering local sake that is not widely available in the market is one of the joys of sake.
