Today we went to Okachimachi Kichiike from a stroll in Ueno Asakusa.
Realizing that we have not yet eaten saury this season, and with a request from my wife, we went in search of saury.
There is a standing drinking corner at the entrance of the fresh fish section. I am a fan of Yoshiike, but this was my first time to drink there.
A one-cup bottle of Tsururei sake.
I had some dried squid and grilled chicken to go with it.
It has a mildly delicious flavor, as is typical of Tsururei.
It also goes well with dishes with strong flavors.
The Aoki Shuzo brewery of Tsururei is located in Shiozawa, Minamiuonuma, but their sake tends to be different from the typical Niigata Prefecture light and dry sake, with a delicious flavor, especially the series of unfiltered, unpasteurized sake. I like this brewery very much.
This regular sake also tends to have a more umakuchi taste.
