I often see drunken whales and tend to ignore them. But I know it is delicious. I had never seen the label before, and was encouraged by bouken-san's call to drink, so I tasted a slightly expensive one that I wouldn't normally drink.
◉Drunken Whale Junmai Ginjo Kouiku 54
A year-round product. It has a citrusy acidity and a refreshing taste.
◉Drunken Whale Junmai Daiginjo Tora
This has an Oumachi-like flavor, but it is very much like Drunken Whale. The impact of Omachi is less pronounced.
◉Drunken Whale Junmai Daiginjo Natsu Kujira Genshu
The sake rice is Ginpu. The yeast is Kochi yeast AC-17, and the crisp, clear and sharp aftertaste is impressive.
The company produces 8,000 bottles and has overseas operations in China, Taiwan, the U.S., Singapore, and other countries.
