Dansan, located in Sakurai, Nara, is where Emperor Nakataio and Nakatomi Kamatari, known for the Taika Reformation, are said to have planned their coup d'etat. Dansan Shrine⛩ in the mountains is visited by many worshippers as the clan deity of the Fujiwara clan and a famous autumnal foliage viewing spot🍁. At the foot of Mt. Danzan, the Nishiuchi Sake Brewery brews a sake called Danzan. This was the first time for me to drink this sake, as well as the first time for me to drink kijoshu, but it has a color similar to that of Shaoxing sake, is sweet and rich as one would expect, and has a unique flavor. It is a perfect dessert sake. This is a sake to be enjoyed after a meal. Danshan is rarely seen in the prefecture, but I would like to try it again 😋.

Nice to meet you, Hissan😊. Your kijoshu looks delicious! When I was little, for some reason we had a puzzle of Danzan Shrine at home and I used to work on the austere design with the pagoda 😆 I would love to visit the shrine someday and taste "Danzan" 🍶.

Hello, Aaru Sake 😃. The pagoda of Danzan Shrine is very quaint, isn't it? I would recommend you to visit during the season of autumn leaves ❣️. You can buy Danzan at Daily Yamazaki near the shrine or at souvenir stores along the approach to the shrine.
