When I asked a monk, an old drinking buddy of mine, to perform a New Year's exorcism, he refused, saying that "exorcism is a Japanese cult." But the other day he brought me this sake, a local sake, and told me to think of it as an exorcism sake because he had left it at the Buddhist altar since the end of the year to worship it.
The fact that a monk gave me sake to exorcise bad luck is rather suspicious🤨, but I appreciate it.
