Savanna
I jumped in on this brand in a hurry to join the leesmpic muddympic!
Basically, it seems to be distributed only in Hokkaido. (Now, with the improvement of refrigerated transportation technology, it may be available outside of Hokkaido.)
This is the first local sake I've ever had myself.
It's a black rice blend and looks like acai yogurt, which I resisted at first lol.
It is an active nigori, so it is pouty and alive with energy even after being poured into a glass.
The aroma is energetic, alcoholic and refreshing.
The texture is as smooth as it looks, like doburoku.
It starts with a sourness that passes through the nose, followed by a rice-like aroma and a gentle sweetness that spreads.
The taste turns slightly bitter and then dries out.
It seems full-bodied, but the mouthfeel is soft and crisp. This betrays it in a good way.
It is easy to drink because of its sweetness, though not at the front.
After letting it sit for three days, the vigor settles down a bit, the sweetness increases, and the sharpness slows down.
And it's great heated!
This time, I set the temperature at 45 degrees. The sweetness and richness come out and it is easy to drink and goes well with food.
There are no four-pack bottles, but 1,000 ml bottles can be purchased for a little over 1,000 yen. A 1,000 ml bottle costs less than 2,000 yen.
I will send it to my friends outside of Hokkaido.
