寿梨庵
I saw it in a supermarket in the Joetsu area and bought it 👀.
It's a Mine-no-Hakubai retro label ✨Honjozo.
This is probably from the era when it was known as Sanbai 🤔.
I think it was in the 1980s when there was a local sake boom led by Koshi-no-Kanbai, and Kanbai, Yukinuchubai, and Mine-no-Hakubai were called Koshi-no-Sanbai as famous sake representing Niigata. The most popular were Kanbai and Yukinuchubai due to their rarity, while Hakubai was relatively easy to obtain.
The brewer, Mine-no-Hakubai Shuzo, has been producing the Mine-no-Hakubai brand as well, although the Hishiko brand is more popular these days. I haven't had Mine-no-Hakubai for a while now, but this reissued label cracked me up😍.
Therefore, I can't compare the sake quality with the recent Hakubai brand, but it has the same old royal road taste. A little milky. I remember it being a bit sweeter, but more dry than umami.
It had a delicious rice flavor and was more drinkable than salty 😋.
I kind of wanted to try the three plums side by side😅.

Jurian, thanks for your time!
I had no idea about this!
I've learned a lot! Thank you very much!
By the way, is it "Sambai"? Or should I read it as "Sambai or Miume"?

Jurian, good evening😊.
Sanmei 👍
I miss this Mine-no-hakuubai honjozo label.
I've never seen the three plums side by side either, so I'm tempted to put them together👍.
