The year is almost over.
I know some of you have finished your work or are on a long vacation, but this is my last day off for the year 🥲.
I opened a bottle of sake that I bought in Takamatsu in November.
I was struggling with Kagawa sake and the owner of the liquor store recommended this sake to me.
Ayagiku's Kunishige series is distributed only in Kagawa Prefecture and is the first brand in Japan to bear the toji's name.
Koji rice 55%, Kake rice 60
Alcohol content 15
100% Oceto from the Yamada district of Ayagawa Town is used.
The production area is abbreviated because it is long💦.
Oo-seto is the most commonly used sake rice in Kagawa Prefecture.
The aroma is mild, like freshly cooked rice. The acidity nicely balances the umami of the rice, as expected from the aroma, and the lingering pleasant bitterness gives it a nice sharpness.
It is classic and delicious, which is a nice change of pace from the modern sakes I have been drinking recently 😄.
I had it with nabe (hot pot) and it went down a treat 🍲.
I had it cold, but it's definitely good as a heated sake. 😙
