Today, after finishing a meeting before noon, I took a half day off this afternoon.
I got off halfway at Ikebukuro station and patrolled Tobu and Seibu (the liquor department has been run by liquor dealer Mr. Yamada since last September).
I used to work in Ikebukuro until early August last year, and once again, I found Ikebukuro to be a good environment for sake fans, with access to the Tobu and Seibu department stores via the station underground, and the Masujin Shouten near Kaname-cho.
At Tobu, there was a tasting and sales event, and Shirataka.
I am in a suit but happy to be able to sample the sake since I have a half day off in the afternoon.
I tasted various kinds of sake, and the fire-aged daiginjo was definitely delicious and gave me a glimpse of Shirataka's capabilities, but I bought a bottle of freshly squeezed nama-shu and a barrel of sake, which they do not serve very often.
The sake was crisp and dry, neat and young, but with a wonderful sake-like character.

Hiraccio, good evening 😃.
I see that in Kanto there is a tasting and sale of Shirataka 😳I have never seen it in Kansai. It's interesting to see test brews and cask sake around the brewery 😁.

Good morning, bouken 😊.
I heard that Shirataka rarely does tastings and sales!
Ikebukuro Tobu is very active with 2 breweries coming for tasting and sales every week, but maybe it's because it's Tobu.

Jurian, good evening😊.
I liked the Shirataka tasting.
I thought it was as good as I expected.
The taste of Shiboritate is still to come, but it has a nice youthfulness and sake-like quality.
