Sake that I received on New Year's Eve 🍶.
I went to a liquor store and happened to see it on display, so I was able to buy it, and now I'm going to open it as soon as I finish drinking.
The aroma is sweet? It smells like pineapple and cotton candy.
When I take a sip, it has a slightly thick, chili-like mouthfeel, a pineapple-like acidity, and a lot of freshness.
Finally, there is a hint of bitterness. It also goes well with food.
I am always amazed at how popular sake tastes when you drink it, and I am convinced that it is delicious. It's really delicious.
The next day, it mellows out, but the freshness is still there.
There is a sense that the liquid is moist and permeates the mouth along with the umami. There is a sweetness, but I like the feeling that it doesn't linger in the mouth because of this permeating sensation.
At the end, you are left with the lingering sensation that you have had a delicious sake.
It was the perfect ending to the year.
When I opened a bottle of Jikkoman, my father, who is a whisky drinker, offered me a bottle of his favorite whisky as it was the end of the year.
Even I, a whisky beginner🔰, could tell that it was even better than sake...amazing.
He seemed to still have a stash(?) of the now hard-to-find one he got a long time ago. He seemed to have some 🥃.
