Chokki
The Stuttering of the Bamboo House
Junmai-Ginjo 55%.
I paid a visit to a too-hidden sake brewery in Yamanashi, the Sumo Sake Brewery.
A person who appears to be the daughter of the president of the brewery gave me a very kind reception. Beside her, the president of the brewery, a very friendly-looking man of about 80 years old, was cleaning the water tank diligently. On our way home, he saw us off in the rain, and although the brewery was small, I came to love the arm wrestlers.
Take it home and take a bite. Hmm? No, silly with this label. Light raw sake feel. Probably this is a twice-fired, but it's a good build that reminds me of that kind of feeling. Completely unexpected. I expected it to be a stinky sake with lots of miscellaneous flavors, maybe 2 stars. It is definitely easy to drink while eating. The rice flavor is not too much, but it doesn't taste like any food. There are few outstanding characteristics.
When I brought this to the Shinagawa Nakanobu Drinking Competition later, balding old man said, "It's polished, but the ginjo doesn't come through and there's nothing good about it. On the contrary, he gave a favorable review to the muddy sake "Kurokoma no Katsura" from here. I've uploaded that sake as well, so please take a look.
The arm wrestler lamented that production has also dropped dramatically due to Corona. This is a brewery I want to support.
