This sake, made with rice from Bando City, is currently brewed by Raifuku Shuzo in place of the Otsuka Shuzo, which went out of business. Since there was no information on the liquor store, I registered it with Swarm. It has a thick, sweet and slightly fruity taste with a classic flavor. I thought I've had this somewhere before... but it seems to be from Raifuku, since they share the same brewery. The last time I drank this was almost a year ago, so I may be speaking out of turn...^-^ It seems that there are many different specifications of sake, such as nama-shu, but it is quite difficult to track them down. The reason I visited Bando City in the first place was, like Tsuchiura City last year, to attend an event for a certain manga set in Ibaraki. Unlike Tsuchiura City, there is no train line in the city, so it is quite inaccessible, taking several dozen minutes by bus from a train station in a neighboring city. It would be a different story if I could use a car. One of our destinations was the "Bando City Tourism Exchange Center Shu-ryoku," which was formerly the Otsuka Sake Brewery. It seems that the former Otsuka Sake Brewery facility is still in use, and we were able to take a tour inside, but we didn't know about it beforehand, so we just took pictures of the outside and left. I may go there again during the period of the festival.
