One of the fun things about being at my parents' house on a weekday is a paid drinking contest at Fujioka Sake Brewery. Four empty bottles for which the pickup fee went from 20 yen to 30 yen! I took them with me. People were already gathering before the store opened, and it was dangerous. I was alone and lonely. I took advantage of the fact that I was there alone and sat down at the counter. As long as I sit down, I don't mind them coming to ask for my order later.
First, we ordered three different kinds of sake (those in red on the menu). The Junmai Ginjo Yamadanishiki is quite aromatic and bitter. It is Yamada-Nishiki, but it is very assertive. The young man sitting next to me, who was not accustomed to drinking sake, said, "It's just like Japanese sake. I thought he did not use this as a compliment.
Next was the Junmai Namaishu Oorigarami Miyamanishiki. Wow, strong. It had a strong umami and bitterness, and I said to the waiter, "It's very heroic. Did she get the message? The waiter asked me, "What was your favorite?" I answered, "Junmai Daiginjo Nama Shu Orikarami Yamadanishiki. It is slightly effervescent, sweet, and easy to drink. It was delicious.
The third one was a frozen sake that I asked for because it was limited. The bitterness was concentrated and the alcohol content seemed high.
I participated in Mahjong Saturday, Sunday and Monday and still have a positive ✌️ fun 😊.
