Sake from Niigata and Nagaoka will follow.
We will have it in a handy 300ml.
I am sure I have had it before, but this time, the first sip was especially "spicy!
This time, I thought it was especially spicy at first sip. I thought, "It's spicy!
However, I can't rely on my taste buds, so just for reference...
As I am sure is well known to everyone, there are 16 sake breweries in Nagaoka.
Is it the benefit of the Shinano River, which is the largest river in Japan?
I would like to visit them, but I cannot visit all of them in the short time I have for sightseeing...
I don't remember what I bought at the Ponshu-kan in Nagaoka Station before, but I remember that I was wondering what to buy.
Nagaoka was heavily damaged in the Boshin War (Hokuetsu War).
Compared to the Aizu War, the Hokuetsu War seems to be less known.
However, some of you may have seen the movie "Touge" (Mountain Pass), which is based on Tsugunosuke Kawai, who fought with a Gatling gun to protect Nagaoka, and was released this year.
I will visit both places next time I visit Yoshinogawa, as there is a place about 10 minutes by car from the museum where Tsugunosuke Kawai made his decision to start the war.
Spicy! But delicious.
Shinano River, Tsugunosuke Kawai, and the Hokuetsu War
The reasonably sized bottle was quickly emptied as we reminisced.
