Yesterday I had a barbecue with my colleagues from work.
It's been quite a while since I've been to an outdoor event.
It was quite hot but ☀️💦 fun time.
I was told, "This may sound like a bad idea from Mr. Hiraccio's point of view, but there's a good way to drink sake. Please try it."
And so we did.
He grilled a Funabashi Hombinos clam and poured sake into the clam while eating the meat of the clam. The taste of the shellfish is combined with the sake.
Indeed, it was delicious.
The sake prepared was Hishiko by Mine-no-Hakubai.
A good choice of sake.
It had a citrusy aroma that was not typical of Niigata sake, a beautiful flavor and acidity, and was a good combination with the seafood.

Good morning, Manachie 😃.
Barbecue is good 😀.
The extract left in the shellfish makes it umami 👍.
I'm hooked.
I also liked the choice of juicy leaning modern Hishiko.
