Kanazawa Tourism Recession Blowout Drinking Party. The wife and I are a couple of "goshi" (a person who doesn't drink well), so two gos of wine is the limit for us. So the second bottle is here, in the lion's den of Yamanaka Onsen, the southernmost point of Ishikawa. Yamanaka Onsen has a folk song called Yamanaka-bushi, which means a lion comes out in the middle of the night, hence the name. The current head brewer, Fumiaki Matsuura, is the 14th generation, and it is a well-known local story that he trained at that Takagi Shuzo brewery.
Shishi-no-Sato is my favorite brand, but for some reason I can't get my hands on it for drinking at home. I would like to drink it when I see it when I go out for a drink.
So, here it is. It is a mildly fruity sake with a slight alcohol taste. The rice used for this sake is "Dewa Sanbai," which is probably a result of Mr. Takagi's affinity for it.
