The day we compared Kaze no Mori Akitsuho 657 and NeXT drinks.
Not wanting to stop there, we were treated to a series of sakes that I would love to drink at home but for some reason can't afford to buy every year.
As a fan of Kangiku, I am ashamed to say that I have yet to drink it at home, Hashu Honor.
I have come across it on display in stores, but because of the time of year and the overlap of the sake I want to buy right before every year, I cannot buy Haneju Homare due to storage space limitations.
I was thankful to be able to drink it out of the store.
The aroma is mild and modestly fruity.
On the palate, it has a clear touch.
The sweetness has a dark, juicy, Kangiku-like character and a smooth acidity.
The overt aroma is sweet and soft.
It has a clear umami taste and a gentle, slightly bitter astringency.
The aroma and flavor change depending on the sake container and how long the bottle has been open, so it is difficult to make a blanket statement, but it was crisp and clearer than I had expected.
It had a taste of sweetness that is typical of Kangiku, so I thought it might be interesting to let it sit for a while.
