I bought it because of the claim that it is the earliest harvested Akihikari 🌾 in Okayama prefecture 😆 How does it taste?
The aroma is alcoholic and sour, with a hint of grapefruit.
In the mouth, it tastes rather grain-like and crisp, with a hint of sourness. There is also a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. The label on the back says mellow, but I don't think so 😅.
I had it with Spanish mackerel sashimi. Not as good a match as I thought it would be 😅. I guess. I think it's because the Spanish mackerel has stronger character than the Japanese Spanish mackerel. I think the bitterness increased. Well, there are days like this 🙃.
Next, I paired it with fried turnips. This is a better match 😄The flavor of this sake is milder and more umami. It might also go well with Kyoto's senmaizuke.
