There was a slot for a category, so I served it and it won a gold medal in the premium heated sake category, but the brewer said it was better to drink it as is.

Echigo Toji Shigome No. 18 Besshiki Special Junmai Sake
It has a firm, full, orthodox flavor.
The same sake cannot be entered in the National Heated Sake Contest, and to win four different awards for different brands is impressive.
We spent the longest time talking with the brewer, who gave us his business card and told us that his hobby is drinking iron.
We talked a lot and he said that he was struggling with how to convey these qualities of sake as delicious.
He said that brewers in Niigata have study groups with other breweries and are very close, but the salesmen are rivals to each other 😁.
I became a fan not only because of the personality of the brewer, but also because of the traditional taste, which is so delicious.
I am good friends with Haretoke in Osaka, so next time I go there, I will have to check it out.
