Last year we had Yamada-Nishiki, but this year we had Omachi.
It has a slightly tangy texture and umami flavor that is typical of Tagaji, a lingering taste of moderate acidity, and the sweetness and flavor unique to Omachi rice, unlike Yamada-Nishiki, which is very delicious.
Because of its strong flavor, we enjoyed it on its own rather than paired with something else.
