A trip to Kyoto. We went to a creative izakaya (Japanese-style pub) that we usually visit for Kyoto cuisine. This time, despite our last-minute reservation, we managed to get a table. The food and drinks were as delicious as usual, and the unpretentious but attentive service made for a good time. We were treated to a dessert sake on our way home, as it was our last drink. This sake brewery is famous as the family home of a certain actor. I guess it is a brand that people buy as a gift because of its price range. It was refreshing and easy to drink. As a person who likes brands with a relatively strong presence, I don't think I would buy it myself (even for the price), but it is nice to be served it on such an occasion and feel something special. By the way, I had the impression that more than half of the people in Kyoto were from overseas. Another 30% were students on school excursions. It was good to see the city come back to life again, but even though the hotel we stayed at was foreign-affiliated, I felt like I was not in Japan when I was eating breakfast. I would like to go back at least one more time before the end of the year.

Wow! Sorry for the complete delay in replying! I always appreciate the thoughtful customer service at this restaurant. It's fun to be able to choose from a variety of glasses (since the proprietress is a sake lover). (The proprietress is a sake lover.) Nowadays, all the restaurants are full of foreigners!
