Reposting due to a posting mishap.
Last weekend was the Kesennuma Minato Festival.
The Date Wooden Craft Association, of which I am a member, participated in the parade together with the Kesennuma Jinrikisha Wooden Craft Association in support of the festival, and performed the woodcar songs.
Another purpose of this visit to Kesennuma was to buy bonito!
I bought about 15 bonito for the mid-year gift. I bought more than a small fish shop. This year's bonito had more fat than usual, and the price was reasonable. After I got home, I had thick slices of sashimi with slices of garlic, grilled harasu with salt, and fried hoshi (heart) with garlic. It was the best!
To go with the bonito was purple air.
The upper aroma is a fruity aroma!
The mouthfeel is slightly gassy with fleeting sweetness and umami. The aftertaste has a slight sake-like aftertaste, and the mild acidity and bitterness bring it all together nicely.
I paired it with fatty bonito, and it was quite a good match. Well, I have a stupid tongue, though.
Kisarashi, bonito, and sake are the best!
Thank you very much for the meal!

Colonel Lal I also drank the purple space watermelon label and it was exactly as Colonel Lal commented! It seems to go well with bonito. And this year's bonito was really tasty (^o^) I also had some from Kesennuma and it was like toro!

Hi, Mr. Sashiu 😁.
The label may have influenced the taste, but it reminded me of how watermelon used to taste like 😋.
This year's dried bonito is amazing! And it's cheap! 3kg size is only 1000 yen! We have to eat it!
