Purchased at Yamaya
The sake that caused me to fall in love with Kikuhime when I bought it at a liquor store in Yahatahigashi Ward.
(Just after opening the bottle)
Drink cold
Pale yellowish in color.
Mellow aroma similar to that of whiskey.
When you put it in your mouth, a mellow flavor with sweetness fills your mouth.
The dryness of alcohol appears after a while, and you can feel the high alcohol content, but the dryness itself is not so strong.
The sweetness remains in the mouth for a while.
The taste is completely different from that of ordinary sake.
Smoked duck goes very well with it.
Not only does the sake lose its peculiar taste, but also the smokiness of the smoked duck and the flavor of the meat are enhanced.
It also goes well with sweet-and-sour pork, but it is more of a refreshing pairing than a fatty one.
It might be better to drink it like a whiskey.
It is completely different from the impression I had when I drank it before, and I wonder if it tastes so much like a Western liquor.
(The day after opening the bottle)
Drink it cold
Aroma similar to oolong tea.
The aged impression is not at all apparent, and it is definitely better to drink it cold.
(4 days after opening the bottle)
Drink it cold and then cool it down.
Try to match it with snacks suitable for whiskey.
Kaki no tane (persimmon seed) is not good, but it goes very well with rum raisin.

That's what I mean by whisky-like drinking, isn't it? Beer, highball, drink light sake, and I like to finish with Kikuhime as an after-dinner drink.

I like to drink it as an after dinner drink.
Now I'm going to try it with dried fruits, etc.
