Tonight we went to Otsuka to eat anaguma. The first one at Jizakeya Motto, which the wife had seen in a magazine and wanted to go. Wataya in Miyagi. They seem to specialize in heated sake, but we started with cold sake. It was drier than I expected. The aroma was subdued and calm. A great sake for a mealtime drink that doesn't interfere with the food. Goes well with sashimi. Since it was my first visit, I chose a course that included Anakuma and other specialties of the restaurant. The three sashimi dishes were tuna (red and medium fatty tuna), seared bonito with chives and soy sauce koji glaze, and grilled amberjack with charcoal salt. All were absurdly delicious and perfect with a side of sake ✨.
